Status of coal miners in Bangladesh

This report on the coal miners of Bangladesh was carried out by OSHE, a partner of AMRC and a member of the ANROEV network in partnership with AMRC to shed light into the OSH conditions of coal miners in the country. Bangladesh is passing through a very vulnerable situation in the energy sector. The possible sources and raw material which can be converted into energy is very limited. One of the possible resource that can be mined for energy consumption is coal. Until now five coal areas has been identified whereas only Barapukuria Coal Mine is under production. Coal mine production is largely dependent on the underground mine workers.
